436 | Family Search has quite a few linked documents attesting to this marriage. Image of the marriage bond is most interesting- David Railsback, presumed to be the younger brother of Elizabeth, is the one who provided the bond along with Isaac Ellis. David would have only been 21 years old. David and Elizabeth's father was still alive and seems to have been living in Rowan at the time - why did he not provide bond. Alternative - this is an entirely different David and Elizabeth Railsback. | Family (F1349)

437 | Family Search indicates that perhaps there are two Jasper Hicks in that area at that time, difficult to sort out which one would have been Delilah's husband and Etta Pearl's father. | Hicks, Jasper (I3697)

438 | Family Search, Findagrave, and various documents have conflicting info about this individual. Or perhaps there are two men - one Albert and one Abner. 1850 census: "abner e." 9 months old in Oct. 1860 census: "abner e." 10 years old 1866 marriage record: "abner and francis" 1880 census: "albert and francis" he's 28 with a 13 year old daughter - that would give a birth year of 1852 - marriage at 14? Son Dennis b 1872 in 1880 census, did he change his name to David Wesley, or is this a different child of a different family? Daughter Anna Elizabeth same as Nannie C? Or different people? Wife Francis Deskin, and then Josephine King, or two different families? | Embrey, Abner E. (I2528)

Clara McFall Owen (1905 - ) | Hall, James Thomas (I222)

448 | Following the deaths of both of her parents, Mary wrote letters to one or more relatives presumably asking for some assistance with her brothers and sisters. It seems that no help was forthcoming. All indications are that Mary provided care for her younger siblings, her brother Clay went out to work and provide money as soon as he was able. Given this history, it is not at all out of character for her to have married SS Riffle, who had recently lost his wife and had quite a few young children that needed care. | Embry, Mary Elizabeth (I232)
