Tips for Success

Cooking Tips
The amount of M&Ms added is up to you. For Christmas cookies, set aside some of the red and green ones to decorate the top just prior to baking.
Use the regular sized M&Ms in order to have a chocolate taste in the cookies. The mini M&Ms are more coating than chocolate, and will not melt properly in the cookie.

Classic Sourdoughs, A Home Baker's Handbook, Pam Gaulin,

  • Every Christmas my mom would make Santa's Favorite M&M Cookies with my sister and I. She said they were Santa's favorites. She must have been right, because the full plate of cookies we left for Santa was always empty on Christmas morning.
  • I have made these cookies so many times since then, that I have the recipe memorized. These are incredibly sweet cookies that are delicious when warm or when cooled off. They will last for about a week, if you have the cookies around that long.
